Great app for those who enjoy using social networking to keep in contact with certain close spiritual friends. On that front, it’s a good means of spiritual support with others you trust. It has a bishop’s approval. I like apps containing personal information like this with additional password protection–this has it. However, you have to sign up for a log-in. I am not a fan of having to give personal info like email address and my birthdate just to open the app. I do enjoy the daily message of reflection which automatically appears on my phone each morning.
Advent Apps

You have to add “Miraculous Medal” – it is free – they pray the Novena Prayers, stream services weekly, pray the rosary, have videos of people telling about how Mary answered their prayers, One minute reflections on Mary and beautiful Marian artwork, and more. “Mea Culpa” is the most detailed (not for the scrupulous) and is the only one that actually badges sins by by number, species, kind. One down side, they don’t actually display under the same commandment in confession mode. Not that big of a deal. The other confession apps are just ‘yes/ no’. Number not included. Strongly advise UNLESS you suffer from scrupulosity, or are of the more ‘progressive’ bent. You’ll just get aggravated and likely not use it anyway.

A new Catholic app just came out recently. It is called “Wake Up to the Creed.” It is an alarm clock that wakes you up with an audio of the Nicene Creed. It is available in several languages! Pray the solemn Profession of Faith before you even get out of bed in the morning.
I’ll like to a new app to this list, but it isn’t clear to me how to do it. It’s called “Saint of the Day for Kids” It is available for iOS. It is a great resource for parents teaching their kids about the Saints. The images are printable, and sharable.

Wonderful ressource, I too enjoy sharing my findings with catholic friends:There is an app-book called Compendium (compendium of the catechism in several languages) on iTunes, there is the possibility of buying GIA hymnals on ipad- the app is Hymnals. ALso I know it is not specificially catholic but there are several kids apps on bible stories and games as well (Bible time, Noah’s ark etc.)

If you’re looking for something with more weight, try iBreviary or Divine Office to pray the Liturgy of the Hours. The rosary is also always an exceptional devotional aid.
