Boost your Easter Triduum experience with 3 exceptional apps

Looking for POWERFUL apps to help squeeze more out of your Easter Triduum experience? Here are three recommendations: I have enjoyed this heart-melting personal Lenten retreat offered by Pray as You Go titled, Women of the Passion. (Free) iOS and Android.  Produced by Jesuit Media Initiatives out of Britain, this app invites you to spend about about 11 minutes per day in a systematic method of prayer which you follow in an audio format that includes beautiful, gentle music and genuinely inspired reflections.

Pray-as-u-go-LentThis particular retreat is unique in that it follows the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus as it was experienced by women–not just the Blessed Mother, but many of the peripheral characters like Pilate’s wife and the maidservant at the house of the High Priest. In your spare hours this Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday, slip on your headphones and melt away in quiet reflection with any or all of the episodes of this beautiful, hi-impact retreat.

PassionAp-posterMeditation on the Passion of our Lord is a particular devotion during the season of Lent. The Passion of Jesus app ($1.99) iOS and Android is designed to help you develop a tender daily devotion to Jesus Christ and his passion. THIS APP IS OFFERED AS A FREE DOWNLOAD ON GOOD FRIDAY ONLY.

Its developers note: “The primary goal of this reflection is to engage believers to ponder and reflect on each aspect of the Passion by allowing time & eternity to intersect, by allowing the power of the cross to pour into our daily lives, no matter where we are or what we are doing….for a few moments, to pause and cast a glance at our Lord and permit this awesome, life-changing reality to bear fruit, to illumine, to set free & to save.” Languages: English, Spanish, Tagalog, French, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese. Take a look at how the app works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KItwIt9Vrgk

Divine Mercy appThe Divine Mercy Novena may be prayed any time, but Our Lord asked St. Faustia that it especially be prayed beginning on Good Friday and ending on what is now known as Divine Mercy Sunday.  Divine Mercy app (Free) Android or iOS is designed to help you discover not only this powerful devotion but the fruits of mercy it promises. The Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, who have promoted the authentic message of Divine Mercy since 1941, offer what they consider to be the OFFICIAL Divine Mercy App. This app covers the entire mystery of Divine Mercy–Origin of the devotion, detailed information on messages surrounding the devotion and much more to help bring you into the ocean of mercy promised by Our Lord. Each day of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, we pray for a different group in response to Jesus’ requests which He made known to St. Faustina.  Easy to navigate in a beautiful display format, you get:

  • Interactive Chaplet of Divine Mercy with an audio option
  • Detailed explanation of the three ways to observe the Hour of Great Mercy
  • Stations of the Cross, complete with images and the text of St. Faustina’s Way of the Cross
  • Images of Divine Mercy
  • Explanation of the Feast of Divine Mercy, also known as Divine Mercy Sunday, complete with answers to frequently asked questions
  • Novena to Divine Mercy and other popular Divine Mercy prayers…and more!

    Dear Jennifer:

    Holy Week greetings to you!

Thank you so much for your digital ministry – and in particular for showcasing the ‘Passion of Jesus’ app….I am indebted and honoured.

Just some quick updates on the Passion app:

    1) Android Launch – the Passion app will now be available mid-week for Android devices. New content included – Way of the Cross, Through Mary’s Eyes, Lenten Reflections, Easter Reflections, Daily Prayer to Jesus Crucified and all this available in 8 languages (Romanian added).

    2) iOS version – additional content added (unfortunately, will miss having it out for another week due to the lengthy review process by Apple) – Way of the Cross, Through Mary’s Eyes, Lenten Reflections, Easter Reflections, Daily Prayer to Jesus Crucified and all this available in 8 languages (Romanian added).

    3) In honour of our Lord’s amazing love, I do feel moved to distribute the app for ‘FREE’ on Good Friday. Am just ironing out the details with Apple/Google. Would you be able to kindly help spread the message about this 24 hour FREE SALE on Good Friday – so that many, many souls may be drawn into His immense love. Really appreciate anything you can do to help share this with your audience via email/social media etc.

Once again, my very sincere thanks to you and may you be abundantly blessed this Holy Week!
