Royals, a BABY and an app to help with Natural Family Planning

With the announcement confirming the Duchess of Cambridge’s second pregnancy (that’s Kate Middleton, for we Americans), LifeSiteNews is reporting that worldwide media is acknowledging a baby is a baby. #RoyalBaby was a hot trending topic on Twitter. That’s a nice win for the cause of human dignity. And while we’re on the topic of human reproduction, let’s take a look at a useful app designed to help track ovulation to help with Natural Family Planning.

Clue-4-gangClue- Period & Ovulation Tracker (Free) iOS.  Some reports bill this as a Natural Family Planning App. But it is very clear in the developer’s presentation that this is not to be used to prevent pregnancy. Important disclaimer, wouldn’t you say? Still, it is a tool to help track your menstrual cycle to predict your next period or bout with PMS. According to developers, Clue uses an algorithm to calculate and predict your own unique cycle. And, developers claim, “the more you use Clue, the more accurate it gets.” Check out their video which explains how this app works and the educational material it offers.

An app I really like, that is really NFP-centered, is My Fertility Charts. It’s on iOS, Android, and web versions, and you can sync it across (i.e., so you can share it with your husband). It’s the best one I’ve found so far…and I’ve been looking for quite some time. 🙂

More about it on their website: http://myfertilitycharts.com/

    Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myfertilitycharts.mfc3&hl=en

    Hope that helps!

Using an app for NFP tracking is definitely a win! In fact, I’ve been searching for YEARS to find the “best” app (whatever that means!), and my favorite so far is My Fertility Charts. It is an app (iTunes, Android, and web based) and lets you share across devices, which means I can share all the charts and info with my husband. Best I’ve found so far.
